(Dunya News) – Jamia Masjid Hammam is one of the oldest mosques of Azad Kashmir’s capital Muzaffarabad, signifying local art and historic grandeur.
Built by Makhdoom family’s Shah Ismail Qureshi in 1770, this historic mosque became the centre of preaching and guidance for thousands of Muslims.
The mosque has space for more than 5,000 people to offer prayers.

Countless renovations and restorations have maintained the beauty of this mosque. Kashmiri wood art is visible on the entrance doors and intricate mirror work adorns the mosque with beautiful holy scriptures all over the walls.
Owing to ablution stalls where warm water was readily available, the name “hammam” was given to this unique mosque.
